A Research and Information Center known as “Association of Sustainability and Research on New Tropical Wood Tree,” was created in 2020 by Gain Green and other independent groups of farmers, companies, educational institutions, and organizations. The Center aims to identify and study new tropical wood species as a strategic revolutionary alternative to non-renewable resources, encouraging and stimulating the use of a new tropical wood tree as a local, highly sustainable and renewable source of raw material that plays a crucial role in Malaysia bio-economy development.
The goal is to make the Association’s Centre a recognized knowledge hub, to raise awareness of plantations forests’ significance as sustainable and renewable sources of raw material with versatile applications. The Association will organize many projects: wood informative and showcase gallery, trial plantation plots, training courses, international conferences/seminars, research projects, database center etc.
The Center’s mission is to nurture the community with the aim to expand the scope and impact plantation forests and wood industry scientific research while offering stimulating research experience for junior scientists, i.e., undergraduates, graduate students, PhDs and postdocs.
Tree-harvesting and plantations are critical in developing a sustainable, circular economy. It is vitally important in the transformation process towards building a responsible relationship with our Planet. Our way of helping Nature starts with using sustainable wood products, Sustainable Forest Management and solving regulatory issues.
